ITINERARY

Day 1 Kampala – Kibale National Park
Today you will depart Kampala and head west to Fort Portal. This lovely town rests in the Chimpanzees, Ugandashadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon. From Fort Portal you will continue to Kibale National Park for a stay within the tropical forest. Dinner and overnight at the lodge of your choice

Day 2 Kibale National Park – Queen Elizabeth National Park
Today you will go to the forest that opens it doors for a sensational chimp tracking. Kibale Forest is reputable of having the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey and many others. After a lunch you will transfer to the Bigodi Swamp for another, totally different nature walk. The Bigodi Swamp Walk is an initiative of the local community and takes approximately two hours. The swamp is known for its rich diversity of birds and primates. In the late afternoon you will drive to Queen Elizabeth national park for Dinner and overnight at the lodge

You will go for an early morning game drive in search for lions, elephants, buffaloes and other wild animals in their natural habitat, before returning for lunch. In the afternoon you take on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 4 Queen Elizabeth National Park - Bwindi
An early morning game drive and then return to the lodge for breakfast, after you will head for Bwindi national park a home to the only surviving mountain gorillas. The scenic route runs through a verdant countryside while you pass traditional homesteads and farms. Dinner and overnight at the lodge in Bwindi

Day 5 Gorilla Tracking
Tracking the gorillas may take two to eight hours. Expect to walk a long Mountain Gorilla, Bwindi Forestdistance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. But it will definitely be worthwhile as you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest. A unique and unforgettable experience! For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these giant apes. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 6 Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Kabale (Lake Bunyonyi)
After breakfast, transfer to Kabale where you will have your lunch.  Take on an afternoon boat ride to some of the islands on the lake. The boat ride is most likely to yield sightings of rare bird species. Have the evening at leisure as you enjoy the scenic lake Bunyonyi. Dinner and over night at stay at Bunyonyi Overland Resort / Arcadia Cottages / Heritage Lodge – Habuharo Island.

Day 7 Kabale – Kampala
After breakfast, you will return to Kampala with lunch en-route. Along the way you will be able to see banana plantations, undulating hills and the Ankole long-horned cattle. Stop over at the Equator for a photo shoot and at Mpambire local drum makers or any other crafts display centre for souvenirs before proceeding to Kampala
