Queen Elizabeth National Park is the most popular national park in Uganda with abundant game which attracts thousands of tourists interested in viewing big game. Located in the south western part of Uganda, Queen Elizabeth National Park covers an area of 1,978 sq km. It hosts over 100 mammalian species and a remarkable 606 bird species. Most notable of the wildlife in the park include chimpanzees, tree climbing lions, big herds of elephants, a profusion of hippos, the elusive giant forest hog and handsome Uganda kob which are all regularly sighted around the tourist village on the Mweya Peninsula. The Kazinga channel is another notable adventure place in the park, where you cruise along the shore seeing bird and wildlifes, volcano crater lakes, all in the shadows of the Rwenzori Mountains.
